Lesson 8 continuation

Using the Find All Command

1.Select the range of cells you want to search in.
2.Click on EDIT-> REPLACE
3.Type the text or numbers that you want to search for in the find box or choose a recently searched for item from the find what drop down.
4.Click on the FORMAT button to specify a format for your search and make selections on the FIND format dialog box.
5.Select OPTIONS to further refine your search.
6.Type the replacement text, characters members in the replace with box and choose specific format if necessary.

7.Click on the Find Next or Find All button.
8.Click on the Replace button or Replace All button to replace the highlighted occurrence or all occurrences of the found characters.
 

Search and Replace Utility


Using the Replace All Command:
1.Select the range of cells you want to search in.
2.Click on EDIT-> FIND and REPLACE
3.Type the text or numbers that you want to search for box or choose a recently searched for item from the search for drop down.
4.Click on the MORE OPTIONS button to further refine your search.
5.Type the replacement texts, characters or numbers in the replace with box and choose specific formats if necessary.
6.Click on the FIND button.
7.Click in the REPLACE button or REPLACE ALL button to replace the highlighted occurrence or all occurrence of the found character.

Activity on Lesson 8 - Search and Replace Utility

Do the following instructions.
1.       1. Open the worksheet with the file name of Act_1_<your surname>.
2.      2.   Remove the back color of cell B7 to C11.
3.       3.  Insert cells after the following cells:
Cell Number
      A1
     A9
     A11
     A13
4.       4. Change all small letter a to capital letter A.
5.      5.  Change all small letters I to capital letter I.
6.       6.  Save  the workbook with the file name Act_2_<your surname>.
7.       7.  E-mail your work as an attachment to leugim001@yahoo.com with the subject:  <your section>_Act_2.
